Job Description:

As a key member of the Sensor Technologies team, you will be responsible for the modeling, design, optimization and development of new sensors&systems. In your new role, you will be at the center of efforts to develop new optical sensing technology, and you will engage with cross-functional teams in and out of the company, working on many aspects of system, module, circuit, and device development.

 

Responsibilities

  • Devise, model, design, implement, and characterize optical sensors according to company’s designated commercial goals
  • Build on our patented optical sensor technology in parallel with dynamic application needs from potential customers and contribute to company's innovative product development
  • Lead sensor development and application projects
  • Development and validation of sensor specifications to engage with internal and external partners.
  • Collaborating with global suppliers to develop new sensors for different applications.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to develop next generation sensor/imaging products and features.
  • Work in coordination with the collaborated academic teams
  • Coordinate external vendors for volume production of the sensor systems
  • Prepare routine project progress reports
  • Evaluate intellectual property opportunities and initiate application procedures
  • Attend customer meetings and identify technical demands

Qualifications

  • Out-of-the-box thinker with a strong interest in cutting edge research
  • Degree in Electronics, Physics or similar dicipline; MSc/PhD is an asset
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in sensor design, and sensor electro-optical characterization.
  • Proven experience or affinity with optics; preferably experienced with optical simulation tools
  • Experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design with emphasis on front-end circuits and/or data converters.
  • Proficiency in modeling and data analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB, etc.)
  • Programing skills to develop or adapt software/firmware for characterization purposes.
  • Creative and proactive in problem solving, able to set results driven new directions in the projects whenever required
  • Able to understand and adapt to highly customer oriented R&D environment
  • Previous record as a team leader and/or project manager in a scientific position is an asset
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English with good technical reporting and presentation skills
  • No difficulties in travelling internationally

Research Scientist - Synthetic Chemistry

We are strengthening our team with Research Scientist roles in synthetic chemistry to contribute to R&D studies in fluorescent material technologies. Please send your CV to info@quantagnano.com if you think your abilities fulfil the following requirements:

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop quantum dot and other fluorescent material (e.g. dyes) synthesis and surface modification methods according to company’s designated commercial goals
  • Work in coordination with internal and external (university collaborations) R&D teams
  • Identify the technical requirements for scale-up production of selected fluorescent materials
  • Build supplier database for raw materials and other production items
  • Perform/organize product technical and safety data sheet preparations
  • Prepare routine project progress reports
  • Evaluate intellectual property opportunities and initiate application procedures
  • Attend customer meetings and identify technical demands

Qualifications

  • Degree in organic or inorganic chemistry; PhD or an equivalent research experience in the corresponding field is an asset
  • Experience in bottom-up nanoparticle production and materials characterization in an industrial or academic/scientific institution
  • Experience in quantum dot synthesis, purification and surface modifications is a highly valuable asset. Thus, corresponding candidates are encouraged to demonstrate records of related scientific achievement through publications, presentations, etc., if available
  • Ability to employ materials characterization tools, in both operation and results interpretation, particularly in absorbance/florescence spectroscopy
  • Out-of-the-box thinker with a strong interest in cutting edge research
