Lead Based Quantum Dots are group IV-VI quantum dots mainly consist of PbS, PbSe or PbTe. They are the most conventional quantum dots for the near infrared region (NIR), with their emission wavelengths lying in the NIR spectrum (700-1800 nm). They can achieve high emission efficiencies in NIR spectrum. They can be employed in core/shell structure employing a shell layer (i.e. CdS) or in doper or alloyed structures (i.e. PbMgS).
